Remote Education Offer

During these difficult times we plan to continue with as much training as possible, all learning will continue using remote tools.

Due to restrictions our academies will remain closed until it is safe to reopen.

You may still contact your tutors and assessors using remote tools, or by accessing your eLearning platform, OneFile, e-Assessor, or QualsDirect

If you are unable to contact your tutor direct please contact 0114 2055515 or should you require any assistance and we will be happy to help.

Expectations of students

Stay home, stay safe.

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you have noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

If you have any of these symptoms, get a test to check if you have coronavirus and stay at home until you get your result

Knowledge work and online remote learning, can contine remotely if you are self isolating.

Even if you have been furloughed you may continue with your studies.

Arrangements for students studying courses that require specialist equipment or facilities

Although our academies remain closed, we aim to continue with all delivery where possible, where observations are required, we can complete these remotely using video tools such as Microsoft Teams. Many practical assessments can be covered by gaining a detailed witness testimony from an expert within your workplace, contact your tutor if you require specific guidance on how to gather a detailed witness testimony.

Accessing your learning areas from home

All our learning platforms and remote tools are available via laptops, tablets, or phones. You can also access Word and an internet browser via an Xbox or PlayStation, check out how here.

If you don’t have access to technology to access your learning remotely, please get in contact and we can see how we can further support.
